The Burning Ashes

Vast as an ocean,

Endless as the sky,

The fuel to my will,

Never runs dry,

One step forward,

Two steps behind,

I may fall and crumble,

But won’t change my mind,

Top of the mountain,

Or deep down the sea,

My hunger stays alive,

No matter where I’d be,

Piles of mistakes,

Garbage full of past,

Burn it to the ground,

To be ashes left at last,

Blood stains on the fabric,

Sweaty palms and face,

I run on roads unkown,

Was never part of the race,

Keep pushing, ahead always,

Look down only to find,

The courage to get back up,

From the fear of being left behind.
